GMC Key Replacement in Boston
GMC vehicles are close relatives of Chevrolet underneath, but they arrive in higher trim levels far more often, and that single fact changes the mix of key work our technicians carry out on them.
GMC Models We Make Keys For
Sierra 1500, 2500 and 3500, Terrain, Acadia, Yukon, Yukon XL, Canyon, Savana and Hummer EV.
Higher Trims Mean More Proximity Fobs
Because GMCs skew heavily towards Denali, AT4 and SLT trims, we see a much higher proportion of proximity fobs with push button start than we do across the Chevrolet range. Each of those fobs carries the remote functions together with the identity the vehicle needs before it allows a start, so both halves have to be programmed correctly, and the GM timed relearn cycle applies here in exactly the same way.
Lease Vehicles and Second Drivers
A common GMC call comes from a leased or fleet truck delivered with a single fob that now needs a spare before a second driver takes it over. That work is quick while a working key is present. If your GMC is leased it is worth reading the paperwork first, because some agreements require both original fobs to be handed back at the end of the term and a replacement made now is consistently cheaper than the penalty charged later.
Remote Start and Power Tailgate Functions
Denali and AT4 fobs carry extra functions such as remote start and a power tailgate, and part numbers vary according to which of them your vehicle was built with. Tell our operator which buttons matter to you when you call so the correct part comes out in the van, and every one of them is tested before our technician leaves.
Every GMC key is programmed and tested at your location and the relearn time is quoted to you in advance. Call (781) 928-8161 for a firm figure before we drive out.
